Getting checked by green jeans on the water

In y'all's experience, what do they usually check.
I've never had them check paperwork on the boat or actual registration. Guess because the sticker on the side of the boat is good. Usually just license, life jackets/ equipment
I bring this up because I was selling a boat and renewed the registration. Boat was sold before new stickers came in. Now I have another boat with expired registration. Thinking about just slapping the stickers meant for my other boat on this one

Usually lifejackets, stickers on side, fire extinguisher, flotation

Papers. Life vest. Fire extinguisher, where's our catch? and one time was asked where our empty beer cans were. Never ran across any huge pricks yet. Mostly fish around southwest pass

The last time I was stopped, I was asked if we were riding or fishing. (had granddaughter with me) Told him we were riding. He asked if I had a lifejacket. Showed him and he left.
We went fishing after he left.

on the wather, I have only been asked to show fishing licenses and life jackets...at the landing, they have briefly looked at my fish or ducks as well...

I love when you know you are clean and they check your limit with a grin on your face like a oppossum eating shite

yep...I am always courteous, but it sure feels good to have that "quit wasting my time" notion in the back of your head....

In 30yrs of fishing.....at most I may have been stopped 5x. And for awhile I was fishing nearly every weekend.

I much prefer being 30ft up in a tree and having them walk right under you with no idea. That's a Mastercard moment

Last time he checked for life jackets & gave me an eye exam. He told me to look at the tip of his ink pen while he moved it back and forth. Then he said have a good day and was on his way. I guess he has a second job as an optometrist

I don't get why they can just stop and search you.
It doesn't seem constitutional. What's the difference between a car and a boat?

Supposedly they can tell if you are drunk or high on Marijuana that way.

I don't know all the details of the law since I am not a lawyer but how would they know you were violating game laws if they couldn't search you?
I have been checked several time mainly for life jackets and license, but I have been checked for my fire extinguisher.
As far your question about your tag just go on line and pay for the registration and print the copy. As long as you have that on you you are ok.

they will always check life vests and fire extinguishers. if you have been fishing they might check your ice chest/live well. ive rarely been on a boat and asked about drinking, which i think they should do more

I can understand it if you're fishing, hunting, or trapping, but if you're just riding, it seems wrong.
IMO, It's comparable to getting pulled over for no reason other than to provide proof of insurance, inspection sticker, license, etc.

Your eyes twitch if your drunk and try to focus on a singular motion.

It's called nystagmus. It's the involuntary jerking of the eyes while in motion. When your eyes move back and forth following the stimulus they will twitch involuntarily.
