Tool box and short bed, so mine rests on the tailgate, guard dog works perfectly.

I do this same thing... but my dad broke his glass once so he keeps a cinder block in his truck bed up against the cab... when he drives his ATV in there the front tire hits the cinder block and stops short of the cab wall.
