If y'all wanna get a group together for a CC class, let me know. I'm down to learn some laws.

People telling you a gun without a round in the chamber is pointless. I mean-that's just stupid. Same for the safety between the ears, booger picker off trigger. All that shite. Just worthless words that make the gun nuts look dumb as dirt.

Yep. I don't want my daughter to be climbing around in my front seat (which she never does) and grab a loaded gun. I'm pretty sure there aren't many instances where I'd have to chamber a bullet, much less already need one chambered.
And in Delhi, only hippies carry guns for protection from all the "thugs" there. Keep em in their Toms, I believe

A concealed weapon is not for putting people in their place. A permit to carry is not a liscence to go looking for trouble. It is a means to save your life if your life is really what needs saving. I'll defend the second amendment to some pretty extreme degrees, but one downside of "shall issue" states (such as the one where I live) is that some guys get the "tough guy" mentality once they have a gun in their pocket
Only for last minute save my life or my family. Other folks, sorry, but I may have fled the area if trouble was to arise.
The tough guy comment, just look at today's media headlines.

I've never open carried. I dont want to draw attention to myself in that way. That being said, I'm usually within arms reach of something.

I guess I'll chime in in this.
I don't go anywhere without my pistol which I carry concealed. There are only a few exceptions such as if I were planning on drinking, I would leave it in my vehicle. Maybe when surf fishing I'll leave it behind if I don't see any shady looking porpoises hanging around the shoreline.
I also believe that if you ate going to carry a firearm that it kinda defeats the purpose if you don't have a round chambered. In my experience life and death situations are generally very spontaneous and unexpected. I don't think the person that is about to kill you or someone else is gonna give you a timeout so you can draw and chamber a round. JMO.

Ffirst of all, how many experienced have you had with spontaneous need for a gun? Also, if you're responding yo my post, I stated that if I even approach a situation (driving in a shady area, pulling into gas station at night etc. ) I chamber a round. But to say carrying a gun with a clip full of ammo, without having a round in the barrel is useless, is silly.

a firearm without a round in the chamber is totally useless. i've got 3 guns that stay loaded at all times. everything else that would most likely never get used in a home defense scenario is locked up in the safe, unloaded. now if shite really hit the fan i'd be unlocking that safe!

The no round in chamber = no gun is one of the funniest things I've ever read in my life. I am learning I have no guns in my house.

It literally takes half a second to chamber a round. I'd rather not shoot my dick off when walking around strapped and loaded.

Isn't it though? I chamber a round into any of my guns before your average thug could get an accurate shot off.

i would imagine most situations that required a gun would be pretty spontaneous. i'd rather have something safe and ready to go in a holster where the trigger is covered than having to pull it out and fiddle with it (chamber a round) everytime i pulled into a gas station. one could argue that is more dangerous.

I dont not have a handgun (yet, looking around) but I would/will not be carrying it around with a round chambered

To each his own, but to say an unchambered gun is a useless gun is a bit ridiculous.

i guess it isnt useless if the bad dude gives you a "ready, set, go" so you can get your gun ready. when i carry (which isnt too often) i dont carry an auto anyway so this is really none of my concern. lol
