I got my bow hunting food plot tilled and sowed this morning. Sitting on the front porch watching a thunderstorm water it in now! Perfect timing!

Buy some bifenthrin 7.9% from Tractor Supply and spray every 7-10 days. It normally calls for 1oz per gallon of water for around the home. Use 3 oz to 1 gallon of water on foodplots.
Farmers use bifenthrin 25% which is a restricted use pesticide due to its strength. So just triple the 7.9 and it will take care of all pests not just the armyworms.
Army worms are harder to eradicate when large in size so start spraying early and often.

There is a velvet hunt the end of August and the regular bow season starts in September.

I love planting my plot, but in SWMS I won’t get seed into the ground until October.
What did you plant?

Bag I bought from Tractor Supply is 7 Card Stud. I went back and looked and it is radishes, winter peas, forage turnips, winter wheat, winter oats annual clover and forage chicory.

Go throw 5 pounds of mung beans micro greens into your bow plot. You’ll arrow a velvet buck later this month.

You’ll find it at the grocery store in the organic isle. Probably will be in 1 lb bags.
