Since the OB has come to the correct consensus that brush piles in a public lake are public let’s discuss working a bank. If you’re set up and trolling down a bank in an obvious forward direction, is it acceptable for another baw to jump right in front of you to work the bank in the same direction? You obviously don’t own that bank but is there a distance that’s courteous or is a cutoff always unacceptable? I’ve been getting cutoff more and more over the past few years. This is in non tournament scenarios if that makes a difference.

It's trashy.

As far as distance, if I can hear you thumping your Grizzly Wintergreen, you are too close.

Exception would be if I'm not LMB fishing but want to set up on one particular spot for bluegill, for example, and it happens to be in the path of what I can see a glitter boat is working, then tough shite. Fish around me. I don't consider that "cutting off".

I like getting close enough to see what color worm you are throwing. Any closer than that is just rude.

I had a guy come flying in 25 yds in front of me. He looked like a mummy with zero skin exposed. Plus he had three gopros mounted on his deck. He made maybe 10 casts and then immediately took off, creating a huge wake, to go to the opposite side of the channel. There are tool bags in every sport.

Cheap credit including financing boats up to 20 years has given way too much boat access to poors and hyper low IQ rednecks. They should be fishing from the bank like serfs. Anything less than 300 yards just shows youre a piece of shite.

The worst of all of these groups are Jaydyn and his daddy in the HS tournaments. They should not allow any boat purchase without 30% down with a max 3 year note.

I wish a glitter baw would assault me for throwing a cricket on a stump.

To answer your question, I'm either getting a hundred or so yards behind you and fishing towards you or I'm fishing the other side of the canal. Cutting right in front is trashy - it ain't your spot, we are in a public body of water. I'm not going to catch every fish in the canal - wait your turn

I sold my 23ft bay boat to a guy that wanted to fish 2 kids in high school bass tourneys... I can think of a whole lot cheaper way to do it, but whatever, the check was good.

Which youtuber was this?

But no, as someone else said, there's tool bags everywhere. There was some dude in a sparkle bass boat yesterday who flew into Hopedale canal from MRGO, waking and spraying at least 4 other boats.

In terms of rudeness, I'd rather the guy that doesn't understand etiquette and fishes "too close" than the guy putting everyone at risk because he wants to get to the marina 30 seconds sooner than one other person.

But all that said, just keep your side of the road clean. That's all you can control, unless you're in a kayak or on the bank, there's so much water to fish. No point in getting worked up when you're out there to relax.

It’s public water so I can do what I want and fish where I want.

Depends how far in front of you he jumps ahead. If he jumps ahead of you by 100 feet, he’s a jackass. If he jumps ahead of you by 100 yards, I don’t see any problem with that. You can’t claim an entire bank for an indefinite distance just because you were trolling in that direction

And you can be as trashy as you want but we will point out your trashy trailer park upbringing.

There's such a thing as courtesy.

Come fish my neck of the
woods with that attitude and you'll have a lot of people yelling at you.

If you find out who he is blast em online.

I had a guide cast a lead at my buddy's boat because he didn't want us there. We were in the right and hadn't broken any rules of etiquette.

Well, I've spent the last year blasting him on his business page. So much so I've got him whining and crying to me privately about possibly hurting his business.

frick you TM. No one owns public water and I don't put up with douchebags.

One cannot claim a spot on public water. I thought we’ve established that much???
