first time buyer for home protection

I'm looking to buy a pistol strictly as a nightstand weapon and to take to the range occasionally. I have no interest in concealed carry and after a bit of research I'm leaning towards a Glock 22. Anyone have advice or bad experiences with this pistol?

Remington 870 is a great pistol for home defense.

Thanks for the advice. Some of the guys from work have been asking me to join them at the range after work so I was really looking to get a pistol.

Go to Laffy Shooters and handle some pistols,they have a ton, you really can't go wrong with a Glock. Also go to the range with your buddies and shoot some of theirs.

Definitely go handle some guns to get a feel for them. But you can't go wrong with a glock if you like it.
