Not to go to far off course, but I need a 40-50 # old bow for some bowfishing. If anybody has an old bow laying around let me know.

I bought my first bow this year and its great. I wanted something that was quality but not too expensive but was also versatile so I could pass it on to my son or sell it.
I ended up getting a Mission Craze which is made by Mathews. It's considered their entry level bow (Mission series). The Craze is very versatile so it will fit many hunters. I paid $299 for the bow and around $550 rigged out with site, rest and arrows. Your local Mathews dealer should carry Mission bows. The local dealer can also measure your draw length and help site it in better than the big stores. Just my thoughts. I got my first kill this year so it's been a lot of fun.

I'm 5'8" and I went shoot at cabelas, I felt most comfortable with the Diamond Outlaw. I shot the 70# draw with a 27 1/2" draw length. It was the one I was most comfortable with and I was hitting a good group from 20 yards.

Check out ArcheryTalk.com's Classifieds Hunting Bows.
I bought my bow off of there 2 years ago for $350, rigged out. It was a year old bow that new would have been north of $700. This is the right time of year to be looking too, because the real bow hunting nuts are just buying the latest and greatest that just came out from the bow manufacturers and just want something for theie one year old bows.
I just searched on there and don't see any currently for sale, but recently the Diamond Outlaws have been going for $350-$500 rigged out. Keep your eyes open and you will find a good deal.
