Had one that wouldn't leave our support rafts alone on the Selway up in Idaho.
Kept running it off and for whatever reason it'd return in minutes. So after the third time there was nothing left to do but smash it or carry it off far away. No way we were going to leave it in camp come dark. So nothing else to do two of us manned up and chased into a corner by a rock, where we lassoed it with piece of parachute cord and a canoe paddle. Neck collared it, Can you say pissed off? Wasn't sleeping but it looked a lot like that one squirming in my hand.
Let it go about a 1/4 mile away, after all it was in a wilderness area, and we were just visitors.

Killed a big timber rattler I ran up on two years ago. The rattling was so fast paced I was surprised - freaked me out for a good while. I unloaded a full pistol mag into it and only hit it twice I was shaking so bad but luckily that’s all it took.

Despite being shocked by the camera, he still didn't strike
Kept waiting for a shotgun blast.

so that's the difference between a strike/no strike?
