Has anyone here had to replace their alternator/generator on a Ram with E-Torque? From my understanding it is not like replacing a normal alternator and the dealership is wanting to charge $1,800 to do it. I just can’t see it costing this much but I don’t know anything about this set up. I will be calling some repair shops to get quotes as well but I was wondering if others have had this done and what their costs were. Thanks

1350 back in 2019 so that may be about right given price increases over the past 4 years.

E-Torque. Another reason to steer clear of all Stellantis made vehicles.

Didn't know this existed. Quite interesting. Not sure who thought this was a good idea though.

Stay away from small cubic inch turbos, cylinder deactivation, and hybrids.
Wait, that’s pretty much everything out now.

Stick with the old stuff.

Agree. If you want an electric truck, get one. They’re great. So is gas. Hybrid is the worst of both worlds.

How many miles do you have? It's supposed to be covered under the 8yr emissions warranty.

125,000 miles on it. I’m outside of the warranty.

Yeah, better torque and fuel range are terrible.

I have seen in my line of work a many of toyota hybrids with over 250K miles and the original battery system. Hybrid systems are fine if you buy Toyota or Honda.

I've received word that our company will be doing away with company vehicles and moving strictly to monthly allowances with gas cards. I've already started to look at 2017-2019 diesels that have emissions removed rather than paying 60k for a 4-cylinder turbo truck.
