Ducks Have Finally Arrived In NE Arky

My son is hunting flooded timber off the Black River. Today is the first day this week they have had any luck. A couple of days ago, Lake Ashbaugh held about 10,000 ducks. Now, it is holding about 2.5MM, according to the biologist my son was talking to at the boat ramp.

Well thanks for spreading the word

Is he close to Fisher, Arkansas? My brother has a blind in that area and they have had a poor season so far. They normally do well.

The past week has been pretty bad but supposedly my club did good today. I was there 2 weekends ago and we almost limited out on all of the hunts. We were shy 4 ducks from a 4 day limit

according to the biologist
If he is as bad as our biologist then there is 2.5 thousand ducks there.

I live in NE AL, so I have no idea what 2.5MM ducks on a lake looks like, but my son FaceTimed me late Tuesday and there were far more ducks on that lake than I’ve ever seen in my life. And I could barely hear him talking for all the mallards and pintails chatting amongst themselves.

Me thinks that biologists is exaggerating a wee bit
His/Her/Shim numbers are greater than the entire Louisiana count I do believe.

Of course, They'll show up while I'm having to tend to my dad in ICU with COVID. He's as bad as they get. I bust their arse outta season if I have too. He take care of enough of the green jeans around here for us to get a special season.

Just looked up total migration numbers. Seeing as how it’s estimated to be just a tad over 40MM this year, I would have to agree that an estimate of 2.5MM on one small body of water is likely not even remotely accurate.

Truth. At least y'all will be close enough to snuggle and keep warm.
