Big Ducks: 180-200, mostly Mallards and Pintail

Average 4 hunters per hunt

All public land. Joyce and Manchac WMA.

Damn those are some really good numbers man. My cousin runs Mama Mannino's butcher shop in Independence and hunts Manchac pretty hard. He had a tough year.

Shooter - thanks man.

N. Klondike
Avg. 4 hunters in blind
Someone always hunted every weekend with a few weekday hunts mixed in.

Season totals (including teal season):

2 teal
4 wood ducks
2 spoonies
23 specklebellys
17 snows

Worst waterfowl season in 20 years... I only shot 2 1/2 boxes of shells all year long!

I averaged a spec and a snow per hunt. Most snows came in big bunches.

52 total myself in 11 hunts during traditional seasons. Mostly mallards (1 band) and handful of woodies. Wish he had more teal. Hunt with around 4 guys usually and they had similar results.

Private club and a separate rice field lease in between Memphis & Hughes, AR.

This year was awful

Species breakdown was as follows:

29 grays (101 last season, 153 year before!)
10 mallards
8 mottleds
1 Mexican duck (no, not squealers)
29 GW teal (62 last season, 61 year before!)
7 BW teal
11 spoon
1 ringneck
6 pintail
1 wigeon
4 redhead
2 dosgris

109 ducks on 30 hunts, also 6 specks, 1 snow and 1 blue
This is down from last year's 221 ducks on 28 hunts, and 270 on 28 hunts the year before. Would have made more hunts had I thought it would be worth the effort, passed on a few weekdays I'd usually be in the blind.

Pretty much this. Had a few decent hunts...no graet ones...did decent with the specks, though.

A buddy and I limited one time in CP. The most we killed on any other hunt was 5 or 6, scratched more times than killed. All hunts combined total bird kill was maybe 40. Made 8-10 hunts usually with 2-3 people.

On an old field just outside of Mecca. Take out the spoons and those numbers plunge.

Most of the old reliable spots in Mecca sucked. The old school places returned to former glory though.

I knew when Mecca got water early it was set up to be an interesting year.

We need to get to know each other. NWLA OBers need to stick together. What the hell public land are you hunting?
