They are about 6 weeks old. The person we bought them from said Mallard/Rouen mix, but I’m not seeing it.

My YLF is force fetched and she would probably refuse to pick up one of them. Water turkeys are prettier.

Either way I’m somewhat disappointed. I was hoping for a mallard of some sort. Keeping a few greenheads around the camp would keep me excited for bird season.

This is exactly what SpaceBook marketplace gets you.

As ugly as they are, I don’t think I will be allowed to eat them.

They are what we call a "barnyard mix". Look like Muscovy/ Blue Sweedish possibly mixed with a Rouen or Mallard. Might be good egg layers.

that's the truth....done right they are better than any duck that is feeding naturally and flies a bunch.....but no where near as interesting to hunt....

Those are canal ducks from Metairie baw. I have some more walking around the neighborhood that you can come scoop up if you like.
