My god you're a stupid frick. Thankfully some dumb coonass who hunts shite, never killed shite, and doesn't know shite does not set policy for the rest of us.

I am in agreement with just about everything you have said and probably for the same reasons. I believe every aspect of hunting just means more to me than it does the average person. It was how I was brought up and those lines run deep in my family. I raise my boys the same way. Unfortunately we live in a world today where people want Everything as quickly as they can get it and with a minimal effort, and that is precisely what we are talking about here. you and I are talking about not just the sport but a way of life that we love. To most other people it is just a game and a way of getting recognition.

My perfect world of outdoors involves no paid for guided hunting or fishing. You want to eat wild game or fresh fish? Invest in it and figure it out yourself like the rest of us had to do. The indians had cooks and gardeners too. Not everyone is a hunter or fisherman or seaman.

Paid for canned experiences are a plague just like electronics are, but that's a whole other discussion. One that I am absolutely correct on though, just like this one.

We use one in conjunction with Texas Parks and Wildlife to do herd surveys yearly. It’s cheaper than using a helicopter.

He just admitted to using every pc of equipment under the sun while hiding behind well everyone else is doing it. Put that shite down and pick up a longbow if you want that argument to hold any water

If you are referring to me, I do shoot a long bow most of the time, although currently I am hunting with a recurve

Right now, I am in my backyard shooting a 68 pound Schafer silvertip. I probably own 15 recurves and long bows.

Wasn’t referring to you, just the fella crying about other people using legal tech while simultaneously using all the same shite if not more than most use.

I’d listen to the argument if it’s coming from someone using strictly primitive archery equipment. I’m a bow hunter as well but have zero issue with people using what’s legal, I like my compound bow.

Do i need to use a stick and string rig during 3rd rifle season in colorado before im allowed to take such a position?

Don't be rediculous. Its possible to both use it and not like that its allowed.

Nah it’s not, practice what you preach or don’t whine and cry about it. I don’t agree with allowing certain things to hunt with and won’t use them because of that. Nor do I cry about others doing it. But I try to not be hypocritical.

Well, youre wrong. I use all of it and I wish it wasnt allowed. The reason I use it is because there are 10,000 other people out there using it for the same elk that im after. If there are any recurve bow hunters with no electronics killing public OTC elk in 3rd rifle in colorado well they're just better than me. Good for them. They can sleep at night knowing they aren't hypocrites.

The real fallacy is being so damned high up on that horse that you cant understand the position or the crux of the issue. But, you are a Texan. The great state where deer are cattle with antlers and the high fence reigns supreme. I say we allow total unregulated do whatever you want in Texas for the deer farmers and less the rest of union be for the hunters.

#1:actually from South LA and hunted public land down there most of my younger life. Killed many mature bucks on WMA’s bow only. P&Y class deer

#2: my place in Texas is 100% low fence where our neighbors share the same management practices.

#3: I’m not the one on the high horse crying like a little girl about what other people legally use to hunt with, then turn around and be so hypocritical to use that same equipment while using the excuse well everyone else does it so I can’t kill without it. Killed many ducks and deer on public down there while paddling or walking in while most everyone else was using surface drives. I don’t like em but would never cry, nut up and get better or continue to use the crutch your whining about.

#4: hunt Colorado public land as well, so I understand what it’s like for perspective

Whole lot of low post counts (alters?) talking junk to OB regulars. I wouldn't listen to them.

I’m way too poor for a thermal drone. I’m probably too poor for a regular drone.

I had one fly over me last year while hunting on a powerline. I’m assuming it was done by the power company after a bad storm, it sounded like a brush cutter on a skid steer for probably half a mile in either direction. I would have a hard time being convinced that any deer is going to stick around with that near them if they can move.

I don’t hate the idea of using a drone strictly for recovery, but it is a slippery slope.

You can’t ban everything that bad people will use for bad things, people have been using flashlights wrong for half a century, let’s not get started on firearms.

I’m torn. I want nothing to do with drones. I love blood trailing with dogs especially. I’ve had a dog of some sort that could find deer for the last 20 years. There’s not much more rewarding than finding a deer in the middle of some nasty stuff you know wouldn’t be found without the dog. That said, I just spent $1200 on a Garmin for my dog. I know she won’t run off, but swamps and briars are rough. I’m hoping a gps collar will speed up the process. I do feel a little dirty though.

I had a garmin alpha for my tracking dog too. If there was going to be an exception to my no electronics rule that would be it. Idk if I ever found a deer with it that I wouldnt have found without it but it sure made it a lot easier.
