Hasn’t happened to us, but a coworker was telling me about people that run dogs on your land and shoot your deer crossing the road.

This has to be illegal right?

Nope. Trespassing and shooting from the road is perfectly legal...

Unfortunately, happens all too often.

They used to block forestry roads in the Homochitto. They'd have a guy with a radio at the road in to call ahead if the law shows up.

This used to ne common practice in North Central Louisiana, dog owners didn't give two shits who owned the land.

If they had a 2yr old spike on the run they would destroy your roads, cut fences, shoot down the middle of a blacktop.

The timber companies were the ones who stopped a lot of it

There used to be a group around Greenville Ms that did that shite. They would just drop dogs on the road/turn road next to blocks of woods and surround them the best they could. They technically didn’t drop them “on your land” because of public right always.

Deer from private land that I own. Tenants of my land. Feed them, care for their habitat etc.

Dogs won’t get the same treatment.

Probably saying you don’t own the deer/ aren’t your deer because they are owned by the public/state unless it is high fenced.

Anyone who’d prefer sitting in a box stand while diddling a phone to running dogs for deer is a festering panocha.

Fact.

I never hunted around dog hunters, they were the most inconsiderate.

Does the video show their faces or license plates? Call green jeans or the local sheriff's office and have them charged with trespassing.

Much more common in the 80s, it seems to be an activity in steep decline (at least around Greenwood, MS). I imagine feeding and caring for the dogs gets expensive quickly.

After the ring leader in our area got arrested for shooting at a helicopter, that shite has slowed down a good bit.
