I have not had it happen to me and have done a couple of those. But then again, I set up to where it's unlikely for me to see something straight in front.

I'm the opposite. I don't understand the point of the bar. It just gets in the way most of the time.

For anyone over 6', it mostly gets in the way of your legs/knees when you sit

I have both and love each of them. I use my Viper most of the time but when once it gets cold and I layer up, I prefer the Goliath so my shoulders don't rub on the side bars and make noise.
