I shot two does during bow season and filled up the freezer. After that I was hunting horns. We ended up eating both deer during tailgating so I shot another one and am hunting horns again.

I get real selective after the freezers are full as far as deer go.
Did she expect you to stop having sex just becasue she go knocked up? Sometimes the end justifies the actions but other times the actions are justified for their own qualities.

I like it, but I suggest you not bring this analogy up to her to support your argument...

If I wouldn't have bought 1/4 of a cow from Iowa i could put another 2-3 deer in my chest freezer.
We've got so many freezers because we used to run cattle, but now that we aren't slaughtering a few a year we don't need all the space we have.

I've sent deer meat as far as Canton TX this year, I've gave away 4 so far.
I've killed 5 my daughter has killed one and we are going this even to try for another.

I'll quit hunting when I fill my tags or the season ends. I can usually find somebody to give the meat too. Once the freezer is full is when I start getting really picky over what I shoot.

Cook some beef and make room for the game and you can give a few packs away now to make room but whatever you do don't stop hunting. For most people the meat is one of the last reasons they hunt. The thrill, brotherhood, excitement, enjoyment of the chase and being outdoors and "alone time" are huge reasons we hunt that most women can't fathom.

Yep, I am a hunter not a killer. If I don't need the meat, Im not just going out to kill for the fun of it. It would have to be one huge trophy. Most guys spend $29 or more a pound for the venison they eat

No sir. You buy another freezer.

Bring up the charity idea I'd like to see her come up with a good argument to that

Picked up the venison and pig I had processed in Fredricksburg on Tuesday and a followup question to this thread. Can I get a $29/pound deduction for every pound I donate to an eligible charity?
As for giving to anyone outside of family, I do like I learned to do years ago when I was regularly pounded specks and reds. Call people that are asking you to bring them some and tell them they are welcome to an icechest of fish/venison. When they find out it's not completely processed to where all they have to do is cook it, 99% of the time there is an immediate loss of interest.

I just did that to my father in law
fil: hey yellowfin I could really use some deer meat
yellowfin: I can shoot a doe for you and I'll quarter it, pack it in an ice chest, and drop it at your house.
fil: don't you just have so packs of meat in your freezer?
yellowfin: yes I do.....for me

I can't say too much I have turned down ice chests of shrimp because I didn't feel like peeling for hours

but my grandma loves peeling them so we have no problem cleaning an ice chest

Before my grandma's hands got bad with arthritis she could out peel all of us. She used to work at a factory in Chauvin. Said they got paid by the bucket of peelings. I think I am going to go make a hunt in the morning just because. Not much deer activity on the camera the last few days though.

my grandma has horrible rumathoid authoritis, her fingers all overlap on the pointer. It really sucks but her pain tolerance is AMAZING!
Nothing stopps her! (both hands and feet are like that)
I feel horrible for her and wish I had half the pain tolerance she does
