I'd like the OB opinion on Days Smokehouse in Denham Springs for wild game processing. I am considering bringing a deer or 2 and possibly an elk to them this year.

Aside from the typical smoked sausage and cajun style meats, how are they on the butchering/processing for non smoked meats?

Last couple years have been good. Several years before that they were hit and miss but the owner was not plugged in and they had work release workers working it “ so I was told “
I know you didn’t ask but the same gen area has full rut meat shop , never heard of had a negative experience or carters old supermarket which is the guy who was at romero’s in central and another top notch for the area processor.

It’s good but their prices are high. Had one 100 lb doe processed. 12 dozen tamales and 53lbs sausage was $450

Best place around for burritos. Pricey, but very good.

As others have said, they produce a better than average product for a premium price. I've heard rumors (some from people that worked there) that you don't necessarily get back the meat that you drop off. Like someone said earlier, full rut meat processing does a good job and is 10 min from days. You get your own meat back there, as they aren't as big of an operation as Days.

While at Days, get some chicken cracklins and a smoked pork chop. Best one around.

Thanks for all of the feedback.

I will certainly look into full rut and some of the other suggestions
