How does it shoot?

I like it. Shoots smooth, trigger pull is predictable. It is a very light gun - I think its about 16 oz fully loaded - so smaller shooters have to make sure they have a stiff grip or it will not chamber the next round properly.

My wife had trouble with this at first but got the hang of it pretty quickly.

The replaceable grips make the fit pretty customizable. We tried every variation (2 grip pads plus mag exstension) but she liked the way it came from the factory the best.

For the ones with daughters..... you can get aftermarket pink grips.

ETA: I chose the SR22 over the Walther because the mechanics of the gun are more like my other pistols. The safety, mag release, etc are about the same style and position as the other guns i have. This was important to me because this is basically a learning / teaching gun as well as a plinker and I wanted everything to be familiar from one gun to the next if possible.

My daughter wants no pink on her guns. My wife does though. The wife has quite a collection of her own and she's got a knife fetish.

i LOVE it!
One of my boys was a habitual thumb-sucker...just addicted for way too long. The only way to get him to quit was to promise him a rifle if he could quit for a full month. And it would be taken away if he relapsed. It worked. Got him a Chipmunk .22 that he fell in love with.

I asked if her brother could have a gone first and she said that she already gave him her bb gun since she had the 22. They really are amazing sometimes the way the look out for each other...when they aren't fighting

Good to hear you're raising a well-rounded outdoorsy young lady! Good stuff, Smack!

Both a 22 and an M&P9 are great options. I guess it's really about what she wants to do with it. While both of those guns are fun to plink with, you can't beat a 22.

If it were me, I would get a 22/45 LITE. It is extremely lightweight, super accurate, and comes with both a threaded muzzle and a picatinny rail for the top. It's the perfect gun to slap a red dot and a suppressor on.

And if you get her an M&P, I would go full size. The compacts are cool but a larger 9mm is just easier to shoot. You could be a cool father and get her the Vtac model though...

Right on!

My middle son went for a pistol versus an Xbox with all the extra shite. He loves the Beretta 92!

She would love the SR22. I got one a couple of months ago. Nice little plinker. It has been 100% for me so far.
Easy to load and easy to shoot. IMO, its a great starter/training pistol.

Mosquitos only want to shoot mini mags from my experience. Can't go wrong with an M&P.

Is the 22/45 with red dot and suppressor yours?

What's the cost for the red dot and suppressor on the 22/45 you posted? Was it a pain in the arse getting the suppressor?

I want the M&P 9mm for my use to. So I think I'll get both. If I can find the M&P.

I wish. I'll have one eventually but insufficient mulah at the moment.

Here's a video MilitaryArms did recently with a suppressed 22/45, which is similar but not the exact model. He explains the process and the most economical way to do it:

22/45 Suppressed

I think M&Ps aren't really that hard to come by. The way I think about it, they're made in about as much bulk as Glocks. And while supply is being bought at a record rate, it has slowed down a bit and M&Ps are still being churned out quickly from the factory. You should be able to find one if you just look around.
