Why didnt you make the offer contingent on them removing the tree

To be quite honest in my excitement I didn't think about it. 2 other people were showing strong interest so made the offer quicker than I expected. I'm not sure ill want to cut it soon. It's healthy, just big and older and closer to the house than I'd like.

Pecan sure is good for smoking.

You should advertise that wood...hell, it might pay for the dropping of the tree.

Is it dead? Tree looks at ~40' from the home, is that correct?

No not dead, I just have a fear of pecan trees Too many pecan orchards near my home and I see entirely too many healthy trees come tumbling down when bad weather comes in.

ETA: Its about ~20' from the house. 25' at most

That wont be a bad job if it doesnt include haul off. Any decent company can drop it with no ropes by simply piecing it down with a bucket truck and a saw. Should be closer to 1k to just drop it. With haul off would be more like 2500 prob.

Where are you located? Im in cenla and own a company.

Tell him his brother, Louis, referred you.

Great quality work, fair prices.

He's just across the bridge in St. Francisville.

Okay, I was just checking. That tree isnt bad at all for a professional. Not over the house, no fences under it, and no power lines close. Shouldnt be too bad. Good luck.

This is true. Still a headache I'd rather avoid.

From the angle of the pic, the dam house looks like it's falling.

Can you get your truck up to the tree? If you can and have a buddy willing to help just cut the damn thing yourself. Tie a rope as high as you can get it up the tree and tie it off to your trailer hitch. Put a little tension on the tree with your truck. Cut a wedge where you want it to fall and have your buddy get in the truck. Have him pull the rope tight and cut down from the backside toward your wedge and it will fall where you want it to go. I have never paid anyone to cut a tree in my life and sure as hell wouldn't pay 2K.
