My wife wanted a string trimmer and I have a bunch of Dewalt stuff so I got her a Dewalt. Very happy with it because I don't have to touch it. I don't know what it is about women and 2-strokes but teaching her to crank one is just an exercise in futility.

I have Greenworks 60V edger, pole saw, and hedge trimmer. All work great.

I still use an Echo weed eater and blower but if they ever die, I'll be going battery.

I still use ECHO 2 stroke for everything but I have the big Milwaukee cordless blower for just blowing off the porch and driveway when I'm not cutting. It's much stronger than I would have thought. My brother uses the Milwaukee weed eater and edger too. He loves it. I just cant, that slight hesitation in the throttle and let off and the head just gets on my nerves.

I have a Ryobi blower and trimmer. They are OK. Bought as a combo. I am not a fan of the trimmer.

Bought the Ego Trimmer when they first came out 3/4 years ago. Still works perfectly. When you buy get the 5.0 battery .

I have all the Greenworks 40 volt tools except the pole saw. Never had any issue, works so well I gave away all my gas powered yard tools. I take care of 1 acre, do a lot of string trimming, can do the yard several times on one charge with the optional 5.0 AH battery.

Stay with the same maker of your cordless tools. That's why I went with the Makita trimmer and blower.

Makita is your best option if you want the batteries to work with other tools. They have more cordless tools than anyone on the planet.
yeah, I'm going to have to disagree with you here. Ryobi makes things I didn't even know existed, and everything they make works ok enough to justify. And the prices are way less some things, that the other brands charge.

Most different options: Ryobi
Cheapest options if you are willing: Hyper Tough (Walmart, red)

I actually don't mind the Hyper Tough stuff I got on deep sale. The sawzall works, their big blower (uses 2x batteries instead of a 40w) is solid, their hedge trimmer runs as well as I remember the old corded one we had decades ago, etc.

Ryobi has some indispensable tools, in my opinion. Their 1/2" Impact Wrench works great on lug nuts, including my Silverado's. Their lights and fans are way cheaper than other brands, and they have some small clamp-on fans that are true godsends when you need one.

Find the tools you truly need, then buy into the ecosystem of batteries. The lithium batteries all work great.

As an aside re: tools,
Milwaukee 12v are great. Hands-down the best ratchet, and the boombox is superior in sound to the Ryobi. Not yard, but a must-have for working on crap.

I got a blower/trimmer combo from EGO a few years back. I loved them, then went all in and got a mower, chainsaw, polesaw, edger, and hedge trimmer.

They are all excellent, only had one problem in that the head of my trimmer I had to replace at my own expense because i was hard on it. The bump and go feature doesn't work very well is my only complaint. But I believe the newer ones work much better from what I hear.
