I completely forgot that I saw a Grizzly in Yellowstone. It was about 300 yards away though too, so it just didn't have the same effect.

Other ones that I've seen off the top of my head.
- Mountain goats
- Bison
- Elk
- Moose
- Caribou

I really want to see a mountain lion some day and also a Grizzly up close.

I got a picture of the Caribou that I saw. We saw a lot of them up in Canada.

If the Caribou look like Elk in Canada, do the Elk look like Caribou??

Have you heard of Spieden Island in the San Juans? The founder of Oakley owns it and imported a bunch of animals from Africa and stuck them on the island . If you take a boat by the island, you are guaranteed see lots of these African antelope things and some big-horned sheep.

Nope but I have seen several exotics before. There is a safari place in Oregon. These sheep I see are wild. You can see them up on top of the rocks or running in the fields near the freeway. There is a place near eatonville called NW trek, ever been? I haven't but you can go see your mountain lion without having to see it purely in the wild

Bald Eagle is one of the best and regardless of how common woodducks are they are beautiful.

Never even heard of it. I'd rather see one in the wild .

You won't be laughing Btw....do you know what to do in case you run into one?

Also, if you really want to meet one go to a rocky area where there are plenty of elk and go hiking really late or really early, also bring a dog and go alone. Let the dog run free, no leash. There is your best chance!

eta....When I went to devils peak lookout I was in definite cougar country. Rocky areas, heavy forest and plenty of rabbits and elk.

i saw two bobcats fighting this deer season, they were on a hillish cliff thing and one pushed the other over the side and he slid half way down and then ran back up and they went back at it.. went on for about 10-15 minutes it was pretty cool.

my friend saw one once on a backpacking trip, from about 30 yards away. He said it was about a 5 min staring contest, he was all puffed up and looky cocky!

Have you heard Roger's story about his friend in Montana? I have to go but if you haven't I am sure he will pop in.

Nope. He always chimes in on these types of threads though, so I'll check back tonight.
