If you're looking for a backpack, the magellan 36 can at academy is pretty good. It still had some ice left in it after a blazing hot day on the beach in the sun. $79.

We use AO's in our Kayaks. It will keep ice for 24 hrs. $70-$80.

Have a yeti hopper and a couple of rtics. There is no difference in SxS performance. Rtic has a sweet spot on quality and value. Cant speak to Magellan or some others.

I don't know about the current soft side productions, but if they're anything like the current run of Hard 20qts I would think twice. I have sent back 3 hard 20qts in the past month because they all leaked around the plugs and even one around the gasket on the lid.

My back pack polar bear is spectacular for the price, the best beach cooler I have. The pockets are great.

My Hopper2 is also really good.

Ozark trail from Walmart. It'll do everything a yeti or rtic will do.

The zipper on my Rtic came apart after 4 years. It stays inside all the time.

Buddy of mine had the yeti bag with magnet closure. It’s very nice and you don’t have to frick with zipper.

GF got me the 33l ice mule. I really like it. Tough as hell and comfortable straps. No complaints on the ice melting too fast.

I just got one back last week. People love to shite on Yeti/Sitka but it’s nice as hell knowing I can use something for years and if it craps out they will replace it no questions asked.

Also, while I’m in here. The RTIC hard coolers/soft coolers are shite.

Ozark Trail 36 Can Welded Hard Sided Cooler, Gray/Black

Picked it up on sale from Walmart a while back, gave around $60. Dang near don’t touch my yet 35 now. Has a lid with a gasket, too. I can’t stand a zipper.

Happens with the RTIC ones. I've used Polar Bear soft sided coolers in the past and they hold up well but when the ice melts you want to keep it upright or water comes through the zipper.

The roll top ice mules are a good idea.

I had a Yeti Hopper and the zipper stopped working. They gave me the option to replace with a couple different items as they no longer made that size. I ended up getting the Yeti backpack cooler and it is really nice but if I were to purchase a cooler fresh I'd look at AO or simply something from Costco.
