I'm talking to this Wyoming baw at work right now about his elk hunting

I know next to nothing about hunting anything like that but man the stuff he is showing me is wild. I gotta make it out there one day

Same. That shite is humbling. You gotta hoof it and you gotta be lucky

It's why some us joke hard on millerman.

That's just not hunting. Not even close.

Put that guy out west hunting deer and he'll come up empty handed. He NEEDS his daddy's property to kill animals.

Leaving Sunday for southern CO.
Cold front coming through on Tuesday. Lows in the upper 20's. Going to feel like heaven compared to this SLA heat and humidity. Can't wait. 3rd year going, coming back with an elk this year. We've seen them the last two years and know where they are bedding, know where they are usually grazing, and have a better plan to get a good shot off this time.

I don't have permission. He may want to post when he gets back. He has very little cell coverage, and his son still has a couple days to fill a tag.

66 and 67 probably have the biggest bulls in Colorado, the issue is you have to wait 5-7 years to draw. You can get an over the counter in 65 but the problem is there is road access on one end and if you kill something in the far end, you better be a damn monster to haul it out. September is a weird time because it’s really not cold enough to leave the meat for a day or two if you have to pack out without a mule. San Juans is rough arse country.

We used to go set up camp in the mountains near Pagosa Springs every year. Nothing like it in the world.

haha, I thought maybe he was joking. I've been to colorado elk hunting and I've also shot a deer coming to corn.

I think its okay to like both....

Why would he be joking, Millerman is a candy arse who hunts canned hunts and takes pics. We don’t respect guys like that. If he left his daddy’s baited ranch, he would have a clue what to do.

Near Pagosa in the San Juan Forest.
We hike in about 4-5 miles from our truck to where we tent at. Really shitty hike in, not so bad coming out, although i hadn't had to do it with an elk on my back yet, which i hope changes this week.

Actually a little nervous about the front coming in on Tuesday. Lows will be in the lower 20's where we are. I think my sleeping bag is a 20F. Last 2 years i've gone the lowest it's gotten is about 40.
