If you're ever in the area make sure you go to the Buffalo Bill Museum. They have guns there from every war and the beginning of time. There is nothing like it anywhere else in the world, can't miss if you're within 250 miles, you won't regret it at all.

Wall size ball-bearing pull-outs in the lower basement area. The wife dragged me out of there after a while so if you go, wander away from the group of ladies with you and blaze your own firearm trail.

Deer run all over that town. Seen quite a few in the road up by the ice-rink early one morning.

Went as a kid during a family vacation in 1985. Still remember the gun museum. On my bucket list to go back.

Thanks. I will add it to the "rainy day" list while we are at Yellowstone.

Probably won't rain and there is so much to do in Yellowstone, but its good to have options.

Daughter just went there a couple weeks ago when she went to rodeo in Cody. Said it was cool. She is being a horse wrangler for the summer on a private ranch about an hour from Cody. I'm envious when she tells us how awesome the weather is every day. Flying up early August to drive her car back from Billings so won't be near enough to stop myself.

I was a kid on family vacation in the late 70s and we were lucky enough to catch the Cody Fourth of July parade. Buffalo Bills grandson rode in the parade.
The museum’s are amazing.

I wouldn't make it a "rainy day", I'd make it a point to spend several hours in there. I found it to be just as impressive as the WW II in New Orleans is, maybe a little better.

Its a very nice museum. Does it even rain in wyoming? Id make it a super hot/cold day.

Or pair it with the cody rodeo.

I stayed in Cody for 2 weeks studying geology in the region about 12 years ago.

It's an incredible area.

Below are some pics from around the regions in the Shoshone National Forest (Beartooth Lake), Big Horn Canyon, Red Lodge, and Lovell.

Many attendees don't even know about the lower basement.

If anyone is ever near Glenrock, WY, stop by the Fort Diablo bar and grill and order the Prime Rib. It's the best tasting Prime Rib you'll ever have in your life.
