The locals call them larsh. I usually say cocahoes just so people don't say...what?

ETA: I am surprised Alx doesn't call them shiners

The urban dictionary defines it:

(adj.) to describe a person with a lot of chin rolls

Never saw a rock.

Not my boat and that boat has WAY WAY more room in front of the bait well than mine. I have a 19. I think that one is a 22.

I take mine down next week. Going to experiment with strapping down a chest in front of the dry storage.

I had no idea what larsh is. Hell, my spell check wants to correct it to marsh everytime, so it's clearly some made up bs.

Cocahoe minnows are also referred to as larsh, mud minnows or gulf killifish.

Fishing the birds produces the smallest trout. Usually 3 out of 4 aren't keepers. Sometimes that differs.

Were you around Whisky Pass or Coon Pt.? Coon Pt. is what most people refer to as last island(last island to the west of Grand Isle) Coon Pt. has jetties(rock piles) to protect the island from erosion. Great place to load up on trout.

It was small trout under birds or hardheads/gafftops. The decision was pretty easy.

Fished some. I don't think we caught a single keeper off of them.

Sounds like Coon Point, but saw no rocks. We probably just never got to them. We wasted 3 hours searched for the double secret spot with giant trout. The two youngsters with us had just been, and they could not find it.

Ironic because trout play dead when they see them on my hook.

If you arrived from the east you would have seen the rocks. You never know though at the island. They may not be biting and 30 minutes later will hit everything.
