Is that really what that place has become? That's a shame

last year had 2 pro drives roll up a pond over from us about 30 yards away 10 minutes from shooting time with 5 mojo ducks and at least 5 dozen dekes. they hail called like crazy and didn't stop, anytime we had birds working by us they would call like crazy to get them to flare up only to realize after the birds weren't going to them.

that lasted all day.

that's why I hate opening weekend on public land

later at the launch they accused us of messing up their hunt. I never wanted to beat the snot out of a 16 year old kid before, but I was really considering it that day

for profiling purposes: they all had flatbills, a lifted dodge truck and white costas

I am not going to fight the yo-yos in public marsh tomorrow or Sunday. I'll have a much more enjoyable time at Freds with bourbon.

My lease in Dulac is stacked with grey ducks and teal. Easily the most I've ever seen on it. Should be a fun hunt tomorrow if they cooperate.

I just finished the aerial survey and can attest to what folks are hinting about the number of ducks south, east, and north of Venice. That's the most I've counted on that line in awhile.

The rest of SE was probably average or below. It's always risky to say anything until I see what my co-observer counted and crunch the numbers.

Hoping they cooperate today

Good luck and happy duck season all

They must not be in the pass a loutre WMA. 2 ducks on 4 hunters. Biologist had 24 hunters so far with 54 ducks. Just over 2 per person. They aren't on state land down in venice.

Don't know what the deal is. Baptiste is loaded. Everyone we know up there slaughtered them. We rode yesterday for hours and saw 200 ducks all day down river.
