quote:

We have 9 of 28 lines left to fly, all in SE LA. Finished SW and Catahoula Lake. Crunching the SW numbers now, so don't have a total, but we saw good numbers of gadwalls south of West Cove of Lake Calcasieu, on the East Cove Unit of Cameron Prairie NWR, and on Rockefeller south of Hwy 82. Another big bunch of teal was seen west of Gueydan, but off the line, and a few flocks of non-divers were stacked up on open water of White Lake and Vermilion Bay, which typically means they just arrived.

Larry posted this on another site fwiw about the surveys and that was probably before all of this last front blew in.

Brushed blinds last weekend a few miles north of Holly beach and saw a few groups of greys... maybe around 50 total.

Apparently there's birds in the area so we should alright once shooting starts and gets them moving.

Scouted Atchafalaya delta Monday. Didn't start until late and it was hot 85 degrees... Stayed until dusk and didn't see many birds through the evening in flight. Some maybe 100 total bwt and 50 or so greys. You won't be able to just roll up and kill birds. Gotta go scout

Btw, anyone hunting around St. Catherine, Intracoastal, Borgne area. We were catching bass off of your duck blinds. Sue me. But I'd advise bringing a pole and some flukes

Bayou black is shitting the bed - no ducks north of the ICWW in the Houma area. Looks to be the worst open in years.
