I know I can get the bass reds and trout. My question is does anyone still catch or know of people still catchin sacalait back there? Haven't been in 20 years but we used to catch it all back then and I'm predominately a sac fishermen these days. Thinkin bout sucking it up and buying the tag but I heard the place has changed a lot since then. I'd like to be able to catch some sacs at the rediculous price I'd be paying.. any info would help. Thanks

Thanks for reply. I planned on doing a good bit of bass fishing too I just wanted to make sure for that amount of money I could catch me a couple sacs too. Do you know if people still catch them there?

You can always launch in the intracoastal and run down there to see if you catch sacs before spending the money to launch closer.

Hell no. You shouldn't buy a pass out of principle.

are there any other launches on the east side of Bayou Lafourche for kayak fishing? closer to Galliano or Golden Meadow? I was looking at Rapheal Project Rd. off 308. Is that gated? There's a boat launch at the end of the road by a pump station.

A guy I work with just got a pass this year. He hasn't caught any sacalait but he didn't expect to because he said they never did prior to them closing the launch. He thinks the water is to brackish/salty most times.

He debated paying the money for a while. Now that e has, he wishes he had sooner. The bass fishing, in particular, has been great for him and fewer boats to compete with.

How much is it to launch down there now? If I had an outboard I would pay that shite.

It's not a per launch, it's a yearly membership. I don't know how much, the guy wouldn't say. He prefers not to have company. But if it was really cheap, he probably wouldn't have waited to get one.

He actually had a hard time getting people to tell him how to go about getting a membership.

I know it is a yearly membership, just wasn't sure how much per year. Last I had heard was 350 per year.

400 last I heard. I know a guy...should see him at practice tonight. He'll know. Come to think of it, he may even give me a pass if I'm lucky.
