My climber is old, and the shoulder straps finally rotted out. I bought some in a pinch from a local store and am not happy with them at all. What's out there? I want comfort, but simplicity as well. It's an API if that matters.

I bought some XOP ones off of Amazon and I'm happy with them. Whatever you do do not buy the Lone Wolf padded straps. Terrible.

Those look pretty good.

Can Molle systems be found at sporting goods stores?

This.

Without a doubt the most comfortable option.

I bought mine off a military surplus website for $15

They're real simple to attach. Once you've got them in hand its pretty cut and dried

Can carry it all comfortably for a long distance

I use the molle straps and waist belt with the frame, makes the long hikes bearable.

I attached the frame straight to my treewalker with big zip ties.

Straps with frame

I found mine on eBay for $40 with shipping

I’m glad you started this thread, I’ve been meaning to. The ones that came with my muddy aren’t all that great. Been looking at Molle on amazon but they’re pricy.

molle II waist belt

If you get a waist belt the straps become less important by orders of magnitude. My carry straps don't carry much of the weight of my deer stands. They just keep it close to your back. I use some cheap padded straps from Academy.

edit: And don't get the frame, just adds extra weight. Attach waist belt and carry straps directly to stand.

I'm not sure what you are actually recommending.

I’m recommending a molle waist belt to go with whatever carry straps you decide. I think the carry straps are not very important with the belt so don’t buy expensive ones.

I just out a set of Molle II straps on my LW S&C 2 nights ago. There’s a step by step thread on archery talk on how to do it.
If I can find it, I’ll post the link here.

I have a lone wolf climber . I’ve always used an Alice pack . Have some paracord attached to the pack that I secure the stand with. Works but the Molle strap rigs shown in here look great

Mung ordered a set for both of us when I mentioned this thread. Just came in. I'm probably going to need to watch some vids because at first glance, I have no idea how these are going to attach to an API.
