So there was one issue, with one motor, for two years, that I have never seen happen.

And the tailgate handle cover falls off.

I drive a Toyota. Worked on all brands of trucks for 10+ years. What I'm driving is not by coincidence.

I know a few people who had dashes go out. They were all replaced free of charge and had no repeat issues so apparently they fixed something.
I'm not sure what else you expect a company to do. The truck is already sold. They can't give you a new one. I've never heard of GM arguing a warranty or recall repair.

fricking Ebay has stores that repair them. That's how big of a problem they have with them and GM never put out a recall.

GM has a known problem for dashes cracking from 07-11 Tahoes and trucks. They wont do chit to fix them. They used cheap material and labor in Mexico to have the affected dashes built. Phuck GM!!
Unless it's mandated by the NHTSA or is a cheap fix, they aren't going to recall and fix any recall-able issues. That goes for all manufacturers.

Gotcha.
I would guess that no auto manufacturer is any better.

Let us investigate pages dedicated to ford issues and the associated costs.
Ford people think it's normal to buy a $20k used truck with 100k miles on it and instantly sink $5k in it to convince themselves that it's fine now when it really isn't.

Truly a remarkable breed of fanboy.

Yes. The 6.0 in particular.
Posted on 8/7/14 at 11:50 am to meauxjeaux2
Well, if any of you have questions on how well designed the 6.4 is, I am into hour 2 of my starter swap and I just got the OEM starter out. I realized after an hour and 50 minutes that the easy way to do it was to drop the oil pan.
Imagine that.....you need to drop the oil pan to swap the starter quickly. Genius designers that deserve sooo much praise

I think it's hilarious that one or more have tailgate and dash issues at any given time. You would think with all the high tech crap in a vehicle now they could figure a tailgate out.
Link? I havent heard this. Matter of fact the video you posted one time proved it quite the opposite.

That always killed me.
How about I buy something that doesn't need all that re-engineering?

Water in fuel casea are now popping up on the newest Fords. Light algorithm issues.

Certain models?
Do you see cases from all manufacturers? I'm going to take a guess assume it's more of Ford but if so, is it because they all go to trial or because of more suits?
Posted on 8/7/14 at 12:15 pm to Langston
Mostly Ford. I think it is because of their stance to settle nothing. The water in fuel is showing up on the newest diesel engine. I have one going to trial soon. No warning light. Lots of water.
Posted on 8/7/14 at 12:23 pm to AlxTgr
Ouch. Will you let me know how that comes out? My warning light was tested when I bought bad fuel from tabacco plus a while back.
Posted on 8/7/14 at 12:25 pm to Langston
Sure. Good news that it worked.
Oh, and drain monthly if you can think about it.
