I know a few people who had dashes go out. They were all replaced free of charge and had no repeat issues so apparently they fixed something.

I'm not sure what else you expect a company to do. The truck is already sold. They can't give you a new one. I've never heard of GM arguing a warranty or recall repair.

there was no recall on them. It was a TSB only. If they changed them out they must have been under warranty or barely out of warranty. I promise you there was no recall on them.
fricking Ebay has stores that repair them. That's how big of a problem they have with them and GM never put out a recall.

GM has a known problem for dashes cracking from 07-11 Tahoes and trucks. They wont do chit to fix them. They used cheap material and labor in Mexico to have the affected dashes built. Phuck GM!!

Unless it's mandated by the NHTSA or is a cheap fix, they aren't going to recall and fix any recall-able issues. That goes for all manufacturers.

Let us investigate pages dedicated to ford issues and the associated costs.

Ford people think it's normal to buy a $20k used truck with 100k miles on it and instantly sink $5k in it to convince themselves that it's fine now when it really isn't.

Well, if any of you have questions on how well designed the 6.4 is, I am into hour 2 of my starter swap and I just got the OEM starter out. I realized after an hour and 50 minutes that the easy way to do it was to drop the oil pan.

Imagine that.....you need to drop the oil pan to swap the starter quickly. Genius designers that deserve sooo much praise

I think it's hilarious that one or more have tailgate and dash issues at any given time. You would think with all the high tech crap in a vehicle now they could figure a tailgate out.

and replaced it with a known temporary piece of shite, to carry them over into what now is shaping up to be a piece of shite,

Link? I havent heard this. Matter of fact the video you posted one time proved it quite the opposite.

That always killed me.

How about I buy something that doesn't need all that re-engineering?

Certain models?

Do you see cases from all manufacturers? I'm going to take a guess assume it's more of Ford but if so, is it because they all go to trial or because of more suits?

Mostly Ford. I think it is because of their stance to settle nothing. The water in fuel is showing up on the newest diesel engine. I have one going to trial soon. No warning light. Lots of water.

Ouch. Will you let me know how that comes out? My warning light was tested when I bought bad fuel from tabacco plus a while back.

Sure. Good news that it worked.

Oh, and drain monthly if you can think about it.
