The last company I worked for had a huge fleet of F250 gasburners. I talked in depth with our fleet manager about longevity and reliability. We were gettin 300K+ out of them without any major problems. He was at a Ford conference and asked them how many miles could we expect to get out of the gassers, Ford wouldn't pin down a number but they said 250K+ is very common. His personal vehicle was a F250 gasser. After that info, I went with a gas burner...

After the years of 6.0 and 6.4, you will be hard pressed to find any company with a decent size fleet that stayed with ford diesels. Many went to the gasser, or if diesel was a must, changed to dodge or chevy.

I wouldn't buy a diesel pickup unless I was towing a whole lot very often.

Diesel longevity is a thing of the past. The internals of the engine will still last forever, but everything downstream is going to cost money to keep operating.

The 6.4 was a piece of shite through and through.

My brother got 290,000 miles out of his 6.4.

I only got 125,000 out of my 6.0. Switched to a 6.2 gas and has been great so far. Get about 15mpg so it's not that bad.

That's not bad. 2x or 4x and is that with factory size tires?

8-9MPG 4" lift and 37" tires... The man pays for my fuel though....

It's still a very poorly designed and built engine.

Ford didn't really want it to last too long.

4x4. I'm not sure on the tire size. I know I have 20in rims and I think the tire is like 31 or 32in probably.

They recall their issues and fix them. Ford just tells you to buy a new truck and the ford fans buy a new one.

This may be a little off track, but what pisses me off the most about Ford is, they settle almost nothing. Even cases involving a well known defect. Very frustrating and a huge waste of money and resources.

So they just have a stack of open legal cases and they stay open forever?

GM has a known problem for dashes cracking from 07-11 Tahoes and trucks. They wont do chit to fix them. They used cheap material and labor in Mexico to have the affected dashes built. Phuck GM!!

and the guage cluster, and the AFM lifters, and the camshafts, and the throttle bodies
window regulators always breaking, door handles always snapping, tailgate handles always snapping.
Seriously,i used to work on vehicles for a living. Not just owned them like most of these lushes in here claiming how good of a vehicle they are.

So there was one issue, with one motor, for two years, that I have never seen happen. And the tailgate handle cover falls off.

Ford sold you a piece of shite, and replaced it with a known temporary piece of shite, to carry them over into what now is shaping up to be a piece of shite, and people are STILL riding the Ford bandwagon even though it's usually broke down.

Keep shelling out those dollars though. Fanboys are hillarious. Don't care how much money it costs, just give me the newest Ford.
