I've had my Echo for 25 years. Still going strong.

I am going to offer a likely unpopular opinion.

Since I bough a Dewalt battery powered one my Stihl has been very lonely in its corner of the shed.

Which one did you get? I’ve been thinking of grabbing the 20v Dewalt to bring to the ranch for some smaller limbing during season if needed. I wanted to grab the pole saw also because they both match my tool kit already.

I have a small Echo, 310 I believe and have been running the shite out of the past two years and not a lick of problems. Most of the job I use it for I should be using a bigger saw.

That being said I have ran the bigger Huqs forever and they are damn good saws as well.

if you are cutting 4-6'' trees, do yourself a favor and try a echo cs2511t chainsaw. 12'' bar. it weighs 5.5# and will cut all day. when guys with their big saws are wanting to take a nap you will still be cutting. I love mine. google it.

I also run a echo timberwolf when I need to cut big stuff. had it for years and it's a beast.

good luck.

I've got the Dewalt 20v and it is everything you could want for home use. I cut 15 little trees with it yesterday.

Same saw and story here. Been running it hard and often for 3 years on jobs it wasn't meant for and it's still going strong. I love a smaller saw because it's so light and easy to handle.

The key on the smaller saws is honestly to put the smaller bars on. A lot of saws come with the larger recommended bar for the saw because they are sold to homeowners who religiously under buy power equipment but the smaller saws under 45cc don't have the power to run that extra 2-4" bar length and chain IMO.

Unless I have a big weekend cut or expect to run an entire gas tank of gas through, I pretty much only buy the premixed gas now. Doing that and running it dry in the winter and 2 cycles will run without issues for many years.

The 20v, bought it for small cleanups around the house but have been surprised of what it is capable of.

Cedars are hell on chains. I'd go with an Echo and get a Buffalo chain sharpener. I have 2 Echos and a Stihl and prefer the Echos. I have the buffalo and am happy with it as well.

I agree! I own a 250 & 390. They are great as long as you run good oil and non E gas

That goes for bigger saws too, if I was processing oak for firewood I'd put a 16" bar on my 391 lower the depth gauges slightly. Those fire department Stihl rescue saws? 461 Magnum with a 20" bar.
