Catching redfish on a worm

Went to cloverly this morning and with all the grass we ended up fishing a weedless worm. We hooked 3-4 redfish (I had a big one get off at the boat) and I was wondering if anyone else has caught redfish with a worm? Kind of cool to be able to catch bass and redfish in the same area.
Ended up with 8-9 fish. Real tough this morning.

Last time I went to Cloverly in March, we caught 10 bass and a redfish. I caught the redfish on a worm. All bass were caught on spinnerbait.

All that means is saltwater intrusion which leads to marsh loss and erosion. I'd rather not catch bass and reds together.

you don't think bass and redfish lived together before coastal erosion became a problem in Louisiana?

I've caught a few on worms fishing in Gibson. Always fun because you think you have a 10lb bass for the first 4 or 5 seconds.

Sure you catch reds on ANYTHING that moves. All kinds of worms mixed in those oyster and grass beds.
But, the most surprising red fish I caught years ago was on a Hawaiian wiggler LINK on the St. Johns River.
Now, that being said if the redfish sees you first he ususally refuses anything. Only one time have I seen reds refuse live bait but finally our guide got them to eat cut bait. Crazy I know, but these reds were gigantic and were fished alot. (forty pound fish in two feet of water on Mosquito Lagoon)

Caught many redfish on soft plastics like worm, craw worm, brush hog, sweet beaver, senko, ribbit etc. As someone else posted, for a red it really doesnt matter so long as it is moving. And down in Venice, I catch reds and bass side by side almost every trip

Redfish can survive in brackish/fresh water, but the as the salinity goes down, their ability to spawn decreases.

One of my go to redfish baits is a Yum crawfish on a #4 spinner.
And I have caught redfish on red shad culprit worms before

My uncle used to take us kids to Calaveras Lake just outside of San Antonio to fish...we'd catch red fish on grubs/worms rigged for stripers.

Last year in Dularge, in the same canal with the same bait (RedEye Shad), I caught 6 or 7 bass, 2 reds, a hardhead, a sheepshead, some kind of shad, and a flounder. It was crazy.
