I call ringnecks blackjacks. What's difference?

I "own" a blind on Catahoula. Yes, they will harm you if you put a "new" blind out there. I bought my blind spot from a guy who had it for 20 years. Been hunting it for 7 years and never had any trouble from the locals, but I did have a "cicero" blind that showed up last fall closeby. One of my neighbors actually took a backhoe out there and dug a huge pit, then pushed the offending newcomers blind into the hole and neatly buried the entire damn blind. Much neater than a fire.

And speaking of HB. I am sure they have some good hunts but from what I have seen that is a shite ton of $ to spend just to kill a bunch of blackjacks and ringnecks.
HA

Never heard a scaup called a blackjack

Ring neck = blackjack = butterball
Dos Gris= greater or lesser scaup
None of those divers taste worth a shite, so avoid shooting.

Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?

Or perhaps you don't. Friend went season before last, they dropped 6k to hunt Catahoula the entire weekend and shot 1 redhead. So I'm sure at some point the honey brake experience on Catahoula lake included some black jacks over the course of the season. As I'm sure the HB experience on the Delta plantation includes its fair share of greenheads with the funny looking beaks.

My brother has a blind out there as well. A guy he works with has several and guides and after my brother helped cover one when needed to guide a few years the guy just gave it to him. Guess he was tired of keeping them all up.

No, it's not awesome. Until they ban ALL BLINDS, that dude had every right to build his blind on that lake.

I wouldn't pay that much to kill a Booner in Saskatchewan, let alone some fricking ducks
