I had a couple hours free today and decided to break out the camera. Nothing rare or extraordinary here, but I was pretty happy to catch the speedy little wren grabbing the dragonfly.

By far, my favorite birds. They get up in everything that is yours: hanging baskets, open bags of peat moss, anything with a hole in it, on shelves, etc. Then they cuss you out when you get near their nest. Goofballs.

Those are some nice shots. My feeders were drawing in a ton of birds earlier in the month, but the squirrels and this Peregrine Falcon I have hanging around have chased them off.

The damn things are nesting in any little crevice they can find on my neighbor's RV...
I had a bag of torn up egg cartons hanging in my shop last year. I put them in my compost every once in a while. While I had the shop doors open one day, a wren flew in there and was trying to make a nest in that bag! It started chewing me out when I went in there and tied the bag up tight so it couldn't get in again.

Caught a pair starting to make a nest between the tailgate and spare tire on my Jeep

My mother’s outdoor slceiling fans get clogged with their nests every year.

What is your camera/lens setup?

One of my favorites as well. I had one come at me when I was sitting on the couch. It landed two feet from me hopping around looking for bugs. No cares on its mind

I went to change the fuel filter and oil in my outboard today and had a wren nest under the cowling. 2nd time it’s happened.

Very good pictures. It’s nice when you are able to catch shots like the one with the dragonfly. Lot of cool stuff going on in nature and you are able to capture it for others to enjoy.

Just why I love them.
Dad and brother and I were out digging up a stump. We took a break and one landed right on the shovel handle my dad was holding. Jumped off right onto his shoulder and sat there a good 15 seconds before flying off.

I built a few bird boxes and hung them on our fence for my little girl and I to watch this spring. One of these took up occupancy in one and laid four eggs. We now have four little birds out back in the nest. I’m glad you posted his, because I’ve been trying to figure out what kind of bird this is for weeks.

There are several pairs that hang around my place year around. Feisty little birds that will nest in places where I don't want them. Over time I've learned how to deal with them and keep them out of their favorite spots under my carport.
