Property lines don’t work like that here in FL. That’s her available dock space. Cannot build outside that line. I’m not a Treasure coast guy but that lady is about to be bombarded.
The law says she can’t do a damn thing about it as long as we don’t touch her dock. FWC will side with the angler every single time.

I like it. Get enough tourists in there to piss off the locals so we can get this bullshite changed.

I watched the vid, why was she charged with battery?

That's battery?
He says in the video he loves water, doesn't bother him.
How can that be interpreted by any DA as battery?
Theres probably a host of other crimes she committed but battery?

Ask TigerLee how that water hose worked out for him. It is a misdemeanor battery charge no matter what state you are in.

Battery is harmful or offensive touching and can be with an object such as water.

Totally. Especially if you're a middle-aged woman with a garden hose.

that’s just the generic legal definition for battery. Not sure what it is in Florida criminal law. Doesn’t have to be harmful to be offensive.

i mean how close to the dock are you to get hit by a water hose?
Exactly, this is likely one of those deals where both sides are just being asswipes.
Fishing docks is no big deal but skipping those that are being enjoyed by the owners is good form.
I have been on both sides of this and it is rarely an issue unless there is an a-hole on both sides but that sometimes is the case as it seems here.
The one thing this dumbass facebook group does not realize is Joyce and her neighbors are paying some astronomical property tax bills and have the ear of government, keep pissing them off and there will be a no wake/do not enter zone there very quickly.

As a Florida citizen and a licensed land surveyor with my own PLS I can assure you that you are wrong. Florida law does not allow this either. There are already no wake zones all up and down every coast, inlet, bay, and canal. The state legislature would laugh their assss off if anyone brought this idea to privatize the water.
Read more below from FWC on why their high property taxes can not overcome the cash money of our fishing industry. FWC fishing impacts

Had a similar situation like this in false river once. Guy was watching me and starting hollering telling me to get the hell away from his pier. Of course I was catching fish, that’s why he was so mad. I told him I pay taxes like everyone else and to frick off. I stayed there.

lol, and Santa is real
Laws are changed all the time, usually by making it a "public safety" issue and this can easily be manipulated as such.
Sometimes being right has to be tempered by the fall out and trying to piss up the leg of well healed folks rarely turns out good in the end. Right now one old bat is pissed, 400 boats later the entire hood is going to be up in arms and these will be folks used to getting stuff done.
Lets wait and see, if the flotilla is beset with law enforcement writing tickets for minor issues you will have you answer and know what is coming down the pike.

Deal! My bet is that as long as no one touches her dock and maintains boater safety laws there will 0 blowback to the fisherman.
