This will be where the action is if any.

The whole thing is stupid on both sides.

While I probably would agree with you in principle there is not enough info out there to be sure.

I have had assholes unbelievably try to throw crank baits between my swimming kids and the pier because "dey in da turnmant", these instances are rarely cut and dried and usually involve at least one idiot.

You should know a lot more about it than you do, then. Piss off enough people and see how long "state legislature" holds these idiot boaters off.

This is exactly what will happen if the residents want it to happen.

at the idea that Florida is going to let a bunch of tourists come in and act like jackasses. Anyone who lives in a beach town knows how long that will last.

If I were fishing it I would be pissed. If not, it wouldn’t bother me at all.

I agree it’s dumb on both sides.

We have 18 million people in this state. There is nowhere that’s not already wildlife protected that does not have a home and most likely a dock on the water already. No fishing 50 yards from shore/sea wall/canal anywhere in the state? Good luck with that legislators.

I don’t believe 400 people will show up. Not even 40. Maybe 20 and that’s absolutely the maximum.

Fishermen for the most part just want to fish and be left alone. I’d expect she will have a lot of traffic at her dock for a few weeks but after it’s fished out or already crowded most folks will move on. She will get the point and relent like every other a-hole dock owner.

I fish private docks quite a bit at night and had very few people turn off their lights. Definitely had more people step out of their home and OFFER to turn their lights on at a property next door because they want to see other people hook up.

I believe if you are nice to people. Most people will be nice as well. Treat others the way you want to be treated. I’d have Ms Joyce offering me lemonade by my second trip.

It really isn’t that hard. Dude was not breaking any laws and she did. If she would have stayed in her house and stfu there would not have been an issue. She is nothing more than a bored middle aged housewife with nothing better to do.

But will she, or will she take her fat assed checkbook and hire jet skiers to circle fishermen all day and then threaten to write her legislator no more contribution checks till it is resolved?

All she has to do is goad one boatload of fishermen into something stupid on video, which should not be all that difficult, and use it to force hands.

There are many ways this plays out despite your assumptions and sportsmen using these tactics is bad for us all in the end. The old woman has been charges over a water hose, why the need to spike the ball and dance in her face.

What are they hoping to accomplish? The law is already on their side.

Much better idea. I figure she has one or two already.

Honestly though there are no laws stopping her from draping ropes, cables, crab traps, bait drums, or whatever down from her dock and making a curtain wall to prevent fisherman from even throwing at her dock. That’s what I meant earlier when I said she would relent.

That’s on her though. She needs to open that checkbook and get some dock armor. When people start getting broke off they move on and don’t even bother stopping next time.

If she did that we arent even having this discussion. Nor is she in trouble for hosing that guy down.

Do we make a bet that if people do show up that she stays off the dock completely? Or will she go out and harass them also? Who acts an arse first? The fisherman or this crazy lady?

According to him. What I've read claims he trespassed and was standing close to shore fishing her dock.

I find it difficult to believe he was told to leave by law enforcement for "not breaking any laws." Obviously there are two sides to the story. It'd be interesting to know what actually happened.

If he was in the water it isn't trespassing.

If her and her husband only one a single gas station, they are not killing it. They probably can barely afford the house and the insurance that goes with the house, so I'd bet money she isn't contributing to anyone running for election.

Depends on where the gas station is located, some people make serious money off of a single location.

Actually, I'm not.

In FL a resident does not own the water. They can build a structure (dock) but anyone can walk in the water by or under a dock. They can not walk on the land but they can the water.
