Man I wish I would have listened to my Grandpa and Dad. We use to go pick mushrooms in the woods, in the winter. We would go on a foggy day and they had to come off a particular fallen tree to be edible. Would pick burlap sacks of em. Believe they called them oyster mushrooms. Those look like them.

Pleurotus ostreatus AKA winter or pearl oyster. Very good to eat. Cut base of mushroom stem at log; dont pull. They will likely flush (come back) again.
What area did you find the first one (hericium -toothy white one)?

I have been warned against "fake" pearl oysters. He is saying the ones that grow straight out of the log (stemless) are fake and poisonous. And the real ones have stems. Any help there?

The ones that grow on dead willows have no stems and they are delicious!
