I have been looking for a used 5’ grader box with teeth for a while now with no luck.

FB marketplace is a joke. I have tried to purchase 3 different ones from there and everything the seller has some bs story about why all the sudden he can’t sell it. Craigslist isn’t any better. I haven’t looked at sportsman yet though.

Did you try that equipment magazine at the gas station? It's similar to Boats, Bikes, and RVs, but for equipment

I have had awesome luck with FB marketplace. It's head and shoulders better than any other classifieds I've seen.

It's the best thing about fb.

I honestly think it’s a joke. I tried selling a 4 wheeler one time and guy offered me a ps4 with games and a washing machine as a trade.

I threw out a price to buy a duck boat on FB and the seller agreed to it. I made arrangements to drive an hour away to pick it up on a certain day and the seller was cool with it.

While halfway there I get a message saying that he can’t sell it to me because someone else just offered him $500 more.
I blew a gasket

While I agree with you, all of your complaints are normal used buying issues. Unless you buy from a pawn shop or on ebay or something.

All that is what comes with selling stuff on classifieds, no matter where you're selling it. Worst thing I have is lowball offers.

Never anything like selling it while I was on my way. I would be pissed.

Book value on my old truck was like $23.5k when I was selling it. I listed it for $21k. I had this one guy call me offering $11k. He said his wife got fired, so he didn't have $21k, but he still wanted the truck. I had to laugh after that one.

I went to look at a truck in Daphne while selling that one. Agreed to a price, and drove over with cash. I called the guy before I left, and he said to call when I got close. I called on the Mobile bridge, and he said another guy wanted to buy it, but he was waiting on him to get his financing worked out. So I was 10 minutes away, with $14k cash in the center console, and the guy said no.

He called back the next day, and told me the guy couldn't get the money. Asked if I still wanted it. I told him I'd buy it if he drove to New Orleans, but I'd only give him $11k because he pissed me off. That truck sat on CL until I stopped looking a couple of months later.

This ain't a problem thats unique to FB. You'll find the same types of problems and retarded buyers/sellers on just about every free online classified.

Was trying to sell a motorcycle loading ramp via the Let Go app a while back for $25. Some guy messaged me in the middle of the workday about it and said he wanted it. Told him I'd be home from work in a few hours and we could meet up then. Dumb arse wanted to know if it was kept somewhere accessible and if he could just go by my house while I was at work so he could pick it up and leave the $25 in the mailbox, and said he'd even throw an extra 10 in there. Then for the same $25 ramp, another guy messaged me that he wanted it but he was coming from the northshore (I'm in westbank) and wanted me to drive 30 minutes one way to meet him by the causeway. Then he got mad because I wasn't being flexible because I told him $25 for that ramp isn't worth it to me for burning $10-15 in gas and an hours worth of time...assuming he even showed up.

I've sold two JD tractors (27Hp and 40Hp) on Louisiana Sportsman with no problems,

I've never bought anything off the site though. You can definitely spot the fake listings.

Posting the first tractor on Craigslist only brought in spam email.

FB marketplace is the best. I listed my golf cart this evening and I've already had an offer for a Yamaha Rhino and a dodge diesel.

My truck came with a camper shell that's become a backyard decoration. The wife put it on FB and there's people from out of state, one from California asking if it's available. I bet someone wants to travel cross country for a camper shell.

I actually get worried about shite like that thinking they're somehow gonna scam us. I can't think of how, but I'm uneasy about it.

Yeah, it's strange for sure. But I think you can tell a lot from someone's profile and cash is king.
