re: Buy guns online, not locally

Depends what it is. I’ll pay 5-10% more on guns locally because they’ll install an upgraded trigger or sights if you buy it from them. It also keeps their doors open.
Also, a local gun store relationship (something like Interstate Guns) can be really valuable for gun and gear recommendations. Tyler over there knows his shite and will always steer you right.
Bulk ammo on the other hand almost always online for me. Low market value, no sales tax to my door can’t be beat.

Except keeping a local business in business. What an ignorant thing to state. GFY.
I have a buddy who owns a local shop. He actually makes almost as much off transfers as he does selling in house guns. There isn't much markup on most guns. HE brings in about 2K per week right now on transfers and has no overhead other than his time.
Big shops like Jim's firearms hate online sales because they have to buy so much from HK, S&W, Nighthawk and Wilson to keep the preferred dealer status.

Exactly. A dealer that posts on here told me the same thing.

I bought at Academy last night, and have not found any cheaper prices

Sure, if you hunt online you can often find the gun you want cheaper than at a local shop. And I’ve purchased online when I’ve found prices $100+ less than I could find elsewhere.
But recently I stopped at Apocalypse, the local shop to me, and found their prices very competitive with online prices. I’d rather buy there then.
Also, if Biden/Harris are ultimately sworn in they intend to enact rules prohibiting online gun and ammo sales. Get familiar with your local shop.

Sorry, not sure what you mean.

He means you’ve got to use a gun store to get the gun you bought online anyway

Yes just pointing out the absurdity of banning online sales. And how little genpop knows except for what MSM feeds them

I use the shite out of gunbroker

Understood, but my point is to get to know them other than just going to pick up the gun you purchased online. I’ve not returned to FFLs that I’ve found to be abrasive because I purchased elsewhere. Get to know them as a customer of their products - Guns, accessories, ammo.

In theory, buying from a local gun shop gives you better access to service and experience. You're not getting that online

Better prices, selection, no sales tax, only an FFL fee that should be less than $25.
There is no advantage to buying a new gun locally.
Suggested : Grab-a gun, KYGunco, Bud'sgunshop,
