Thinking about an after hunting season project for me and the boys. Needing a small pirogue to pull through the swamp. Thinking 8', maybe a little narrower than a full size one. Figure it can't be too difficult, looking for any tips or experiences you guys may have had.

[link=(www.clcboats.com)]Boat Plans/Kits[/link]
I purchased a kayak kit from them last year. Kind of got demotivated because of demands at work, but hope to finish it this spring. If I had the room to cut the plywood myself I would have bought the plans instead of the kit. Lots of youtube videos on this.

Marine plywood for the sides and bottom, cypress for the rails and framework, waterproof glues/epoxy's and stainless screws to glue and fasten things together.
Then a couple coats of good marine paint to finish it off.

Look at the pinned post at the top and there is a post about FishFighter pirogue building.

Thanks guys, will likely use this as a template. Not going to build a full size, something small to pull through the cypress while deer hunting.

Only marine for the bottom, cypress the sides. If you want the best go to Heritage Cypress Pirogues on Facebook. He builds a very tight skiff and what you want also.
