Sorry for the hijack but I have a basic palmetto state AR in 5.56 tell me what I need as far as optics and suppressor. Not wanting to break the bank just a simple hog killer

I would consider the silencerco Evo. It's a 30 caliber basic/budget suppressor. I think it would probably work well. And you could use on a 308 if you ever wanted to in the future.

I pretty much exclusively use my Creedmoor AR10 now because I’m lazy and it’s a tack driver.

It was Black Rifle Arms. I went back and checked. They actually have an entire BCG also now made just for the 7.62 as well.

Bolt

It's early and I'm heading to work but wanted to ask how you made things work in you KS47. The info below is in Q & A on your link. I've found similar info from other manufacturers explaining why their product doesn't work with the KS47. I appreciate any help on the matter.

Q: I bought two of the7.62X39 Melonite QPQ Bolt Assemblys for my PSA KS 47's, but my weapons would not cycle properly. any ideas?
Asked by: David - 10/8/2021
A: Our AR-15 7.62x39 bolt assemblies are for AR-15 7.62x39 rifles that utilizes AR-15 7.62x39 magazines. PSA KS47 utilizes AK magazines and due to this the bolt assemblies on PSA KS47 are machined for the AK magazines so they are designed differently and you can't utilize an AR-15 bolt assembly in a platform that utilizes AK magazines.

I've broken 6 bolts/extractors

I am assuming you do but do, you have the newer updated bolt? They had extractor issues in the gen 2 and re did the extractor/bolt, I am not sure when that was. I haven't shot mine a ton but noticed it when looking on the PSA site. I reached out about when some new ones would be in stock and they sent me a free replacement and let me keep the old one.

I was shooting some reloads at about 1000fps with my hybrid can and its was really quiet. More like a pfft than a bang, id have no issues shooting with out ears but I do not know the actual DBs and if its hearing safe but tis definitely quiet.

The best hog gun is the one you always have with you. For years my beat up 30-30 was used as it was the only rifle I typically had with me.

I have a grendel in an AR platform and it’s great. I just grabbed a howa bolt in grendel as it’s a low recoil round. It’s fun, has an older scope so I probably won’t care much about it. It’ll probably take over the hog number than the 30-30 due to its range over the 30-30.

I bring the AR when I know I’m going to get in hogs.

To the OP again, I apologize for the Hi-jack!

Yes I do & I appreciate your response.

PSA has been great and can look up my info based on my phone # & send me what I need free of charge. They just don't warranty my time & frustration.

I'll run all the brass I have through it soon. This thread has given me a little motivation. Howbeit I purchased the firearms to run steel in all my wisdom. Providing the brass runs well I'll trade/sell/give the steel away or run it through my SKS. It would be cool if I could just run the steel through it though.

OP the 300blk is a solid choice but like another person stated use the gun you have. Any of them mentioned will work. I'm just trying to keep my calibers the same. I have several firearms in the same caliber for different purposes. It's a big deal for me to add another caliber to what I already have because I'm a lunatic when it comes to having "enough ammo" for said firearm. I'm personally interested in what direction you decide to go.

I am the opposite I got the KS to run brass and keep the steel for my AKs, I haven't tried steel in mine yet. I wanted it to be a more accurate SBR hunting rig. Id look at possible adding a adj gas block like someone mentioned...maybe its slamming back and the steel case is a bit too hard?

Stepdad has one. Daniel Defense. Suppressed. It’s pretty awesome with the subsonic rounds.
