I'm partial to Browning.
Looking into a rifle for my left handed son maybe for his birthday
30-06 or 7 mag.
would like synthetic stock

Ive been searching on the website and just sent them an email, but asking...

Does the AB3 or X Bolt synthetic stalker come in left handed?

I only see a couple models that are listed as LH options on the website (none are synthetic stocks). Is this accurate?

Makes me think of this scene from Saving Private Ryan. Loved the movie, but they may have overlooked one small detail.

Wow, I just looked and all current production does not have those options. Hopefully they’ll respond with an option but it may be considered a custom with a price tag if so. I’d probably just look elsewhere if that’s the case. Here’s another option... LINK

AB3 is a super cheap feeling rifle. I don't really like Browning but if that's what you want, get him the x bolt. From what I see, they don't make synthetic left handed guns. Your options are to go with the wood, pick a different gun, or buy the wood stocked one and buy a new stock. Tbh, I would just buy a lefty Tikka.

I did a quick search-only thing I could find in Left handed synthetic stocks is Savage and Tikka.I’m partial to Browning myself(I have 2 A Bolts and 1 X Bolt) But I hear good things about Tikka and Savage.

Yep, new Remington's suck arse. QC is complete crap. It would probably rust sitting in a closet full of desiccant.

Get one from early 2000s or before. Rustington sucks.

Tikka and Savage both make great guns. Tikka feels like a more expensive gun than it is though. Savage rifles are great though. I've never shot a Savage that didn't shoot well.

Is he left-eye dominant? That's the determining factor, not whether he's left-handed. I'm right-handed, but left-eye dominant, so I shoot from my left shoulder.

I have a couple of Browning A Bolts that were passed down by my grandfather and love them. I am LH, so both of these rifles are put up for my two sons.

I am now a Tikka guy on the rifle in LH. A few years ago, I purchased a T3 Stainless Synthetic Lite in 270 and absolutely love it, fwiw.

I just went through the thing as you and ended up buying a left handed Savage 110 Storm in .308....Impressive gun...You're very limited in lefty bolt actions. The Savage storm has a ton of adjustability with the accufit stock and accufit trigger. Highly recommend it.

Browning limits you down pretty far on options in LH.

Ruger and Weatherby have decent left handed offerings.

All Tikka left hands are long action even if its a SA caliber. .

If you want to spend the money then also look at the Sako they offer a few LH.

I am the same, right handed, left eye dominant, and I shoot from my left shoulder. The first bolt action I purchased for deer hunting was a left-handled action (Ruger M77 Mk 11) but for subsequent bolt-action rifles I’ve just purchased right handled actions. I can’t think of an instance in 25 years in which I required a quick follow up shot on a deer, which of course would be easier/quicker for me or any lefty with a left-handed action.

Not likely your son would need to rapid fire a bolt action rifle as the left handed sniper with the right handle action 1903 Springfield in the Saving Private Ryan scene posted above. You might be just fine purchasing the gun you want with a right-handed action, even though your son will shoot from his left shoulder. Just something to think about.

Have him blink, first. If his right eye closes, he's most likely left-eye dominant. There are other ways to confirm this as well.

I'm right handed but left eye dominant. Got a Abolt Medallion LH when I was a kid and never looked at another gun. All other guns I've held feel cheaply made and loose, with exception to Mark Vs, old vanguards, or Noslers.

I get what most are saying about the new Abolts, and agree. Look for a used Medallion in wood in a non barrel burner (270, 30-06/308, 7mm-08)
