No that's what you did at square 1. You may not have done it on purpose, but you did it.

And I demand an appology because my feelings are hurt.

Just look at the first two pages of responses in this very thread. I would say that 75% have no idea what they are talking about.

Seems like most people agreed that you get pick of the litter and/or a stud fee, depending on the breed and line of the dog. Seems pretty accurate to me

But im just a dumb ol country boy.

If outdoorsman are only in it to make money, then:

outdoorsman = backyard breeder

They are both in it for a profit.

I don't think that is the case though. I know it would help you hate me more though

My issue with your arguments are based on your
" bettering the breed" stance. You stated two fronts of bettering the breed.

#1 health, longevity of life, and resistance to disease.

#2 Passing of desireable working traits.

For most outdoorsmen, we want to breed animals that are proficient in their sporting quests,
i.e fetching ducks, treeing squirrels, trailing blood, and running rabbits...

You keep bastardizing the outdoorsmen who are more interested in the #2 front.

We dont care if a dog lives 27 years cancer free.
We care that while he is alive he is doing what he is bred to do.

And how would you feel if you bought a dog, sent it to training, started working with it every night, and started hunting with it, only to find out in year two that the dog has bad hips and eyes and is no use to you anymore?

I know many will just get another one. Well my time is more valuable to me and I would assume yours is too. Make any sense at all?

If this guy was in it for profit he clearly wouldn't need to ask what a fair stud fee was. He deserves a cut of what the other man will make.

Note the word fair.

Eta: and I don't need an excuse to hate you. I have no problems hating people with no provocation at all.

Since you are the only reasonable one here, do you really think someone is a good judge of a dog being that he has no idea about stud fees or breeding in general? Seems like you would like to be a little educated before you jump into it.

Common sense has no place in this thread. If you cant talk about curing cancer through breeding or bad hips, you have nothing good to add.

Wouldn't happen that way.

A dog that is bred for legitimate hunting purposes would not pass on the kind of traits
that would result in a 2 year old blind paraplegic mutt.
That dog did not acquire those traits by having shitty parents. To be clear, I am not arguing for the dumbfrick trailer trash people that let their dogs run wild, and end up pregnant, and they then sell their mixed breed mutts as " huntin dawgs".

p.s don't talk to people like we are all dumbasses.

Kinda making a small reach about his dog knowledge eh? My powpow has probably owned more dogs than this whole board minus got and 79 put together, but he would have no clue what to charge for stud.

And I'm not the only reasonable one in here. In fact I bet alx will gladly tell you I am unreasonable as hell about anything I am passionate about.
