If you have a gate or a way to open the fence to allow it out, I would do that. You don't want to touch it though, many people think the mom won't take it back then.
I would try to do everything to have it get out of the fence on its own before you do anything else.

You think the pregnant mom jumped the fence, laid that fawn and jumped the fence again and ran away?
I'd be scared of that deer!
Seriously, you have to have a hole somewhere. Is that a gate in your fence right at the top center?

Go pick that lil fellar up and set it outside the fence with its sibling.
Is the other one still there?

Yeah, they are both laying down on opposite sides of the fence. I have a gate on the back to let it out.
I'm going to keep an eye out for the mom before I let it out. I figure the babies will stay together.

Just open the dam gate and it will find it's way out.

Why don't you clean your back yard and and do something with that flower bed while you're outside.

I'm moving those limbs to the street tonight. Street pickup is tomorrow, thanks for looking out.

leave those limbs right where they are untill that little biddy baby gets reunited with its momma.
I can't imagine how cute 2 of those lying next to each other are.
do not let your dog out until it is gone.
PS: did it eat all your flowers?

For those that don't know it's business as usual for a doe to have her fawns and leave them alone for hours the first week or two after they are born. The fawns don't have a scent yet and momma does this to keep the predators away that could track them down because of her scent.
Let the little guy be...just open the gate and maybe put some water out for him. I'm sure he could use it with the hot days ahead.
Cool pic btw.

Thanks, I think the consensus is to just open the gate. I'll free the little bastard when I get home from work.

As opposed to a really old fawn?
