I wouldn't but that's just because I'm either a 29 or 29.5 DL depending on the bow. Would be great for groundblinds if I was a sawed off little fella.

I doubt most would have any idea that it's a woman's bow, but if the guys I hunt with found out...

Does Brace Height Really Affect Forgiveness
quote:

A couple of years ago, we shot this ultra-slow-motion video. Have a look (but ignore the voiceover) and you'll see that even with the older bow and especially with the newer, the arrow is long, long gone before I can even twitch a nerve let alone grab at the bow's handle or drop my bow arm--which suggests that it doesn't really matter how long the arrow is on the string, which means BH shouldn't really affect forgiveness. After seeing this, I talked to a couple of bow engineers, one of whom hinted at the same conclusion and the other flat out confirmed our suspicions.
I thought I remembered reading this a while back. At the bottom there are links to 6 other assumptions with bows. Pretty good read.

Arm and clothing, not time on string.

Once someone at Bowie's convinced me to turn my elbow out to 90° instead of 45° and under, I quit getting popped, and my groups got tighter. Clothes isn't an issue for me, I don't bow hunt exclusively like you.

Yeah, the arm thing is a big deal. My form was really bad years ago.

Lost ole big once because of a huge coat in freezing weather.

Back when I wore bulky clothing I used an arm guard to hold my coat sleeve tight to my arm. With the better clothing and base layers available now it's really not an issue anymore. I hunted last week in 12 degree (4 degree windchill) weather in just a base layer, hoodie, and fitted coat and stayed completely comfortable. I shoot a 6" brace bow at 30" draw length and have a good 2" of clearance in my late season clothing.

I thought all of my baselayers & usual bow jacket were enough to easily shoot my bow and keep me warm...then I almost froze to death last weekend. Looks like I need to upgrade those base layers.

A bow set to its longest draw length and maxed out on its poundage will shoot faster than one set to a shorter draw length at the same poundage with heavier limbs.

For example:

Bow 1: Set to 28" draw length (bow range 25-28") and 62 lbs (60 lb limbs)

Bow 2: Set to 28" draw length (bow range 28-30") and 62 lbs (70 lb limbs)

Bow 1 will be faster.

My point is, if the draw length and poundage fit him, this "woman's" bow will probably shoot faster than a comparable "men's" bow set to the same specs. Obviously, the bow model will make a difference.

Damn my short arms. I'm a 26 draw length. Or maybe 26 1/2. Don't remember.

Ah, ok. Yeah, if the lady's one had 65, it would be a no brainer for me. But then again, I may not hunt anymore.

Can't find a lease that suits my desires, and the public land stuff I used to do just got to be too much effort for almost no results. My invite to a big time club dried up as well.

My hobbies go in phases. Right now, all i really want to do is fish. I'm sure I'll get mad at the deer again.
