Boat propeller problems

Tried to go out to the MRGO Wall today but had boat problems. The motor would run just fine and the propeller would spin just fine out of the water. Gave it throttle in the water and the motor would just Rev really high but no power to the propeller. Took the prop off when I got home and see what appears to be scared up metal. See pics below. Any ideas to what is the problem?

Thanks for the help. I think that's the issue. How do I find what specific hub kit I need? It's a 2002 Mercury twostroke 60.

Bo reworked my old mans wheel and its better than it ever was. A little lighter than it used to be, boat now handles like a dream has awesome holeshot and wont blow out. He did a great job

you can be at bo's in PV in 15 minutes, call ahead and make sure he has the hub you need.

99% sure spun hub bc i had that exact problem.
They fricked me good a while back.
But I have a spun hub a couple months ago. I brought it across the street from the prop shop to acadiana prop. They fixed me up in 20 minutes and it cost $48.

If you spun a hub, you should be able to just put a new hub kit in the prop. No need to go to the prop shop.

Some hubs are pressed in using a hydraulic press and cant be simply replaced DIY. The hub is around $50 and a shop will charge about $25 to press in.

That is Bo’s propellers. Not the prop shop.

The Prop Shop is an entirely different type of water entertainment...
