i have progressive too and the renewal is due next week, so i was looking around too. Has anyone here ever filed a claim with them? I've heard horror stories about them not paying out.

I got State Farm. I think I have $12k in coverage, and I pay $24/mo. I paid $5500 for hull and trailer brand new, and just under $6k for the motor brand new, so I feel I'm pretty well covered.

Have filed 2 claims on progressive over 7 years.
Destroyed a lower unit and cracked a transom hitting something @ WOT: no issues with claim ~$10K
Boat flooded in 2016: no issues with claim: ~$16K

Glad I came across this thread. Skisafe is about half of what I'm paying now.

I had to file a claim with Progressive after my boat flooded in 2016. No issues other than them calling me to come pick up my boat months after they had already picked it up. Then asking me who picked it up and when. I realize they were overwhelmed with flooded cars, rvs and boats.

I haven't had a boat claim, but I did have a motorcycle claim and they paid everything out the shop said needed replacing plus they wrote a check for my gear at MSRP. They didn't ask for receipts, they did send someone out to look at the gear. When he saw what I had he thanked me for saving them money on the medical claim and I received a check 2-3 days later in the mail.

Insure it for $21.5K with $100K liability; you will be looking at about $70/Month and that includes BoatUS.

I have progressive. I think I pay around $350..00 per year. I had a lower unit claim last year and it cost me $150.00 for the deductible. The only thing that I didn't like was that that insisted on a rebuilt lower unit rather than a new one, but I did have a 1-year warranty on the lower unit. Other than that the claims process was easy and my rates for this year did not increase much at all.
