Does anyone use black powder guns anymore and are they worth anything at resale? I was given 2 black powder guns ( one is a Traditions .50cal 1/28" black/ composite stock and silver barrel etc and other is a Knight .50cal T-bolt same black/composite stock and silver barrel etc) both have basic redfield 3x9 scopes on them. I have a standing rule that I don't ever sell a gun, however these will never be used. So I was thinking I would sell both of them and take whatever money received and put it into the purchase of a new gun so I wouldn't be completely breaking my rule. Do any of you guys have any knowledge on these guns and what an approx value may be. Thanks for the help.

In-lines have very little value. You probably could sell a crack barrel style

I have a cheap CVA that I tried to sell but there is very little market for them. I have killed a few deer with it so I have pretty much decided to keep it instead of giving it away for beans.

You're probably better off just keeping them. No market for them around here anymore.

Just keep them. Put them away clean. You will not get anything for them, and some day someone will offer you a hunt somewhere during muzzleloader season where you have to use a real muzzleloader. You’ll be glad you kept them.

Ironically I just bought one two days ago.
CVA with a Konuspro scope for $169
Went to buy a TC Omega Z5 for $79 and it sold the day before.

I already have a CVA Optima that I’ve had for about 20 years and just had my first muzzleloader kill with it last season.

Like they've said, clean them and store them. Maybe one day you'll have the itch to muzzleloader. Last year was my first year using a CVA Optima to close out the deer season. It's good for my county where we can only shoot does until thanksgiving. Muzzleloader lets me finish does off if I didn't get two before Turkey day.

Put them on Texas FB pages for sale. No market in Louisiana. Getting good prices over there for them.

Love to hunt with mine. They are also fun and cheap to shoot just for fun. I always have a muzzleloader shoot down here every year. Friends come down and we shoot all day just for braggin rights.

I have a TC Omega 50cal that is as accurate as a rifle. Many animals have perished due that gun. I dont need a 35 whelen or 44.
