I say Dahlberg. He was around long before Wade came along although many may not have heard of him.

I'll hang up and listen

This, and I'll add that what Wade does is not about being a good fisherman at all. It's the locations, the stories and just catching something that fits.

Dahlberg. Wade is paid to stake out locations for weeks to get a big ugly fish. Usually drowning another ugly fish as bait and waiting for hours. Not exactly KVD skills. There is something to be said for his patience and persistence and ability to live in horrible conditions, but that what he is paid to endure.

Larry Dahlberg had a show called Hunt for Big Fish which had some similarities to Jeremy Wade's River Monsters. Dahlberg was on a smaller network and didn't get as much exposure but he had some cool shows long before River Monsters came along. Also has some instructional videos out there I think.

I like Wade a lot. Pretty knowledgable guy and can tell he's got the fire inside of him. Would love to have that job.

Ah, yeah I've seen him. He's a better fisherman, but it's apples/oranges as far as the shows are concerned.

I am dissapointed in all of you young uns that don't know Larry Dahlberg. And FWIW, he did MUCH MUCH MUCH more than have a show titled the hunt for big fish.

Neither should DIAF

Never heard of Dahlberg. But I don't really watch any fishing shows.

Fishing/hunting shows are productions. You can't judge who the better hunter, or fisherman from some produced "reality" slice. Wade isn't about instructional fishing, it's about location, myth etc.

Dahlberg for me. I am a fan.

Plus some of his fly creations are great. The Dahlberg Diver is one of the better bass flies I've ever used.

I gotta go with Wade. I love watching the show and glad that I do not have to deal with most of the shite that he catches.

Dahlberg hands down.

I lost some respect for Wade after i saw how uncoordinated he looked trying to catch snakeheads in florida using ribbit frogs.

He started a "Fl. Big Snakehead Pics" thread at snakeheads.com and it was pretty popular.
